I have been truly privileged to serve the people of Donegal as a public representative since 2002.

Throughout all those years I have worked tirelessly for all our people across the county. I live in Buncrana with my wife Sinéad and we have two adult sons Dillon and Calvin.

I was elected as a TD for the Donegal constituency in February, 2020.

I served in the Seanad from April 2016 up until my re-election to the Dáil, having previously been elected as a TD for the old Donegal North East constituency, serving from 2011 to 2016. I was Chairperson of the Oireachtas Public Service Oversight and Petitions Committee from 2013 to 2016.

Prior to entering national politics, I was twice elected to Donegal County Council and Buncrana Town Council serving from 2002 to 2011. I have twice been Mayor of Buncrana and also served as Deputy Mayor of Donegal.
